Shining above,
From peak to valley,
A hope does glisten
Hark, and listen.
For she is of stars
And I of moon
And for that, her love,
Makes of me a loon.
Silent ever wander the night.
With eyes uplifted,
The stars cure all fright
Calling from afar a shining light.
Cast open my mind,
And bare wide my soul,
From the earth I unbind,
Into the sky from Earth, so low.
Flying, one with life,
Should worlds end come,
Stars music Ill hum
That peace may overcome strife.
Living in stars Alone, nay
Together; singing heavenly tunes.
One with stars and moons,
I sing forever, come wha
The yawning maelstrom,
A deadly storm,
They face their doom,
As in the abyss it takes form.
The clamoring din of battle,
A dull and muted roar.
The men stand proud,
Ahead of them lays glory evermore.
Turning back to face his men,
He called in a commanding voice,
"Once more to enter the breach, my friends,
For death or glory, it is our only choice."
And fast stood the men,
Their weapons ready and drawn,
They sat there preparing,
For an attack with the dawn.
In the cool, gray dawn,
While fog lay about,
The men fought their worst fight,
The battle with doubt.
"How will I survive,
What glory could I win?
I have not the coura
Twas Boredom bade me write,
Yea, 't forced this pen to hand.
In scribbled hand,
a stray thought in
ORDERED CONFINES.
And yet do I break free.
'Twas Boredom bade me write,
Yet 'tis life doth guide this pen

'Twas Boredom bade me write,
Yes 'twas, yes 'twas.
A masquerade
This life we live.
A mask I wear
What cruel charade.
To lock inside
The one true self.
Eternal chains
do bind and hide.
So deep within
We seal our souls.
We bring to bear
Life's greatest sin.
We hide ourselves
Within a form
So horrid none
Would deeper delve
The key we hold
Is bent, to ne'er
Unlock the gates
Of tales so old.
No more to sing,
The bard's song ends.
A hope is kept
From taking wing.
As hope is lost
So, too, the soul.
Just masks we are
More cold than frost.
As one with this
Our lives now are
But soft! I hear
A whispered hiss:
"Be swift! Break free!
Cast off your mask!
No more be chain

EDIT August 8, 2009: I did print the map, but managed to squeeze another update in, before I did. Here's an update with the addition of cities, roads, and sea-lanes. See the artist's comments for an explanation of the symbol's meanings, since I don't yet have a legend: http://altasilvapuer.deviantart.com/art/Geidor-WIP-Cities-and-Roads-132636156

Hrm, it appears that in three years of being here, I still have yet to actually write a journal. I think this topic is probably as good as any to start writing them, especially since I could use somewhere to organize the links.

So a few months ago,
You're welcome, Simon. I really enjoyed some of the creature designs early in your gallery; they set my brain a'roving.
And I should probably get around to uploading one or two of the other maps I've done, too. Geidor hasn't seen much more work, but I've done others since then.
